So, I’ve found a little inspiration and free time to write a nice column on what I think "game dependency" means. Some of you may find this either funny or in the worst of cases, you’ll be watching yourself in the mirror. So, you know you’re dependent on games, when:
- Life starts to have no meaning without them.
- You come from work or school and install yourself at the computer. Your favourite game is just a click away.
- You loose weight. Sadly, I’m getting fat myself. A recent study says you’re loosing 12kg/year just by playing games.
- Work efficiency or school grades drop.
- Your girlfriend - depending on the girl - leaves you to go out with "Muscle Man".
- You know you have no life.
- You pick-up flash games just because you don’t have any HDD space left to install some more.
- If no flash game is for you, MMO is the deal.
- You reach level 80 in WoW when the level cap is 70.
- Some weird unknown developer from Iran or Irak contacts you for a beta game, and you say yes.
- You tell your friends, if you have some, to join the same MMO you’re playing, even if they don’t like it.
- You force them if not.
- You start to call your neighbours: "Elfs!".
- You kill them, because you think you’re an Orc.
- You start looking geekier, or g33kier, depending on the level of l33t you’re on.
- You’d pray to Sony to release PlayStation 3 sooner.
- God’s just another level of difficulty.
- You wish to enable: /godmode on.
- And … many more. It would be nice if you guys could give me more hints. A big list means we can cure more people.
